Cloud reflections
Today was like a summer's day - I found I was too warmly dressed as I never knew it would feel that warm today. I think we have a good week ahead of us with temperatures rising to 23C this week.
After I walked Xena I went to get some groceries, and stopped off at the river on my way there. The riverbanks are so overgrown at this time of year, they die back as soon as winter comes and you can get clearer views. I thought the clouds looked good today.
I got a text from my GP requesting I book a telephone appointment with her, I am sure it is to do with the results of the X ray of my toe. I managed to get through to the surgery very easily, but the first telephone appointment I can get is in two week's time so I have to wait until then to find out what is going on with my toe.
Our camera club has qualified for the national PAGB print competition which is being held in Blackburn in November, and I have been asked to submit a further 6 images to our selection committee that were PDIs and now need to be printed. Thankfully one member in our camera club has offered to print these at cost because if I used my usual fine art printing company it would be very expensive, and I don't even know if the committee will select them. So I spent some time this afternoon getting the images in the right format for printing and then sent them across to him using WeTransfer. I don't expect we will do well at that competition as the latest trend in photography competitions are posed models in dress up costumes/outfits and very processed in an arty way with layers and textures, not my kind of thing and no one in our club does that sort of thing. Although having said that the gold medal at the PDI competition a few months ago was won by Rosemary from our club, but that was a straight one shot image.
Tonight we have a zoom meeting as our guest speaker lives far away from us. She is Sue Brown who was my one-to-one mentor when I did my ARPS, so I am looking forward to her talk on landscapes with a difference.
