Leaving On A Jet Plane

Up at very silly o’clock this morning in order to get down to Manchester Airport for our flight to Naples. No problems on the motorway, and no queues at check in or security meant we were soon airside and having breakfast. The flight was boarded early and we were all set to leave on time until Air Traffic Control found a reason for us not to! Still, only a 15 minute delay and the pilot easily made the time up on the way.
Found the coach for our - “one and a bit hours” - transfer to Sorrento and I promptly fell asleep. When I awoke two hours later, we were stuck in a tunnel, ambulances were hurtling past with sirens going and the traffic was going nowhere!
But it all cleared eventually and we have arrived at our hotel. The room is lovely as is the weather. All unpacked, so time for a rest before dinner. Then I think we’ll catch the hotel bus into town for a quick wander round before bed.
