Busy day

As with previous years, we had a peaceful evening on Cromer beach, watching the sun go down listening to the crashing waves. As the tide turned to go back out, I felt happier to go to sleep, but not before completely another chapter of my book.

Slept surprisingly well, on and off, but was awake before 6 to see the sun slowly rise. We watched the fishing boats go out and by then I couldn’t go back to sleep. I had taken a mismatched bikini with me, deciding I had to at least test the water, so got into it, plus my rubber shoes and ventured out. The waves were really quite strong but I kept jumping them until they had pretty much soaked me. I wasn’t very far in but enough to swim a bit. It was so lovely being there as the sun came up, so I sang loudly, because I could!! I had forced Jon to take photos as evidence that I went in - even though he protested that I’d just be a dot (he sat in his sleeping bag looking out!!) The sea wasn’t cold - not like Wast Water at the beginning of the month. This was positively bath like!

I dried and dressed, then packed up and went home. By 8.30 we were eating our usual blueberry pancakes for breakfast!

We then showered and I dressed for the 40’s resorting to dungarees, Jon didn’t bother. We had decided not to pay the exorbitant charges to visit the platforms. Instead we walked to Felbrigg, so I probably looked a bit out of place, but the ladies in the shop said I looked lovely so that was encouraging. We got back home at 12 and had lunch in the garden before heading to Sheringham for a couple of hours. It was extremely busy, but great to see so many people dressed up just casually shopping and enjoying the nice weather. I was glad I had bothered. We will rethink our outfits for future years.

Have spent the evening sitting watching tv. My legs and feet ache after out 21,000 + steps today!
