The Memory Walk

Raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society. I walked with my friend G - her partner died of Alzheimer’s in 2022. It was a lovely event - the rain stopped, and it warmed up. Everyone was taking off raincoats and layers as we progressed. It was 5k around the harbourside - a walk I often do for pleasure, so was not hard to do. G, who is 7 years older than me, was also fine. She’s a very good advert for keeping fit and walking often.
The 4 shots are:- the warm up Zumba session, which was delightful - people of all shapes and ages dancing for fun to ABBA tunes. The Cathedral is in the background

There was a merchandise stall - I bought lots of supermarket trolley tokens as they make great gifts - the dog bandanas were selling like hot cakes

A harbourside view - with the masts of the SS Great Britain and the colourful houses of Cliftonwood - although the very grey light made everything look a bit dull today

And me as I was about to start. It was a lovely crowd - mostly young people. You wear a little notice to say who you’re walking for - in my case, this time, my cousin who died suddenly a couple of months ago. Lots of young people has signs saying my nan, or my granddad. Some said ‘for everyone’
