Spotty Bottom Fly!

Lots of rain overnight and plenty during the day. The ivy bush was all but deserted. :(

I was therefore very excited to see a pair of, very smart, visiting muscid flies. I love them and have been hoping to feature what I call spotty bottom flies since the start of the month. Shame the light was poor for capturing them today. My main image is the male and the female is in extras. She lacks the orange tinge of the male. These insects like damp woodland.
