Poor punctuation

I drove Smithers to a clinic in Loughton this morning so he could have a blood test, and this afternoon I’ve been endeavouring to make a start on the display of memorabilia for our church’s 150th anniversary celebrations in November.

Some time ago I blipped about having been given some old conveyancing documents relating to our house, which was built in 1904. Attached to one of the documents, the Abstract of Title, was a map of the land belonging to Monkhams, the large house whose land was sold and developed to create what is now known locally as "The Monkhams Estate". 

I thought it would be interesting to include the map in the memorabilia for our church’s anniversary because it shows how rural the area was in 1904, some thirty years after the church was built. In order to re-create the map I had to scan it in six sections, then I printed each of the scans out on A3 paper and joined them together with clear Scotch tape. 

My photo shows a section of the map, and is notable for two punctuation errors. Firstly, All Saints’ Church has the apostrophe in the wrong place, and secondly Monkhams shouldn’t have an apostrophe, but cartographers to this day like to add one because they think that’s correct.
