One Of These Ships Is Not Like The Others ...

Can you find our lovely Silver Wind cruise ship in this crowd of fishing boats?

Today we are visiting Sand Point, Alaska -- a busy fishing port with some of the big King Crab vessels that are featured in the TV series Deadliest Catch.


We went on a 2-mile loop around the town, enjoying the beautiful mountainous scenery and the amazing views.  It seemed there was a rainbow every 10 minutes or so!

Earlier in the day we passed through the most incredible gathering of humpback whales -- our onboard naturalist estimated there were at least 100 of them all fishing and spouting like mad.  Then to add to the excitement, a whole bunch of Orcas showed up and started to harass the humpbacks!  This is apparently quite a rare thing, so we all felt very lucky to witness the drama.  (See Extra)
