Living my dream

The sparrows are now working together to fill the hole with bits of garden. There is still quite a lot landing on my gumboots (now upside down, so that it doesn't fill them) which is more to do with poor construction than anything else. I wonder if they are first timers?

Neither of them have nested down in it yet, and they continue to fill it while Bean and I sit just a couple of metres away. It is a delight to watch.

The weather turned very suddenly from 21C and sunny this morning to 9C and drizzly at lunchtime. The southerly arrived with a roar in the treetops and a very fast temperature drop.

I managed to do a day's work between 8am and 1.30pm, including the essential dogwalk, cutting the grass of the main lawn, weeding the main path up to the truck, then line-trimming various edges and areas of longer grass.

I had a snooze this afternoon, after watching the latest from Andrew Cotter, Olive and Mabel. Marvellous stuff.
