Community Cards
THURSDAY
This morning, Paul, a relative who has lived in the area all his life and knows everyone, visited us with his wife for coffee. Paul runs a home improvement company, so while we enjoyed catching up, we also took the opportunity to get his expert help with the design of a new kitchen.
We now have a few things to explore like how much fridge/freezer space we actually need and whether it’s feasible to move a radiator.
The whole visit lasted nearly four hours during which another Paul (this one driving the Cherry Van) arrived with our Ocado order.
This afternoon, I spent a few hours on marketing notelet cards featuring the winning entries from the recent village Photography and Artwork Competition. The cards in mixed packs of six, showcase the twelve winning designs from this year’s contest. We are selling them at £6 a pack or £10 for both packs to raise funds for the village community group.
To promote the cards, I created and laminated posters, which I put up on the village notice boards and in the community pub. I also sent out several emails to spread the word.
We have been fortunate to have a dry day until late afternoon, avoiding the torrential rain that seems to have affected other parts of the country.
