Roll With It

Not Ideal Preparation

4:00am out of bed, shower, bacon sandwich and at the boatyard for 5:00am. The two towing vehicles arrived, hooked up the two gigs and we were off, three in one car towing Energy, two in a van towing Britannia and me alone riding ‘shotgun’ in Mrs S’s van.

Exeter Services at 7:20am for more coffee and another bacon roll before heading on up the A303 for the second pit stop and a caffeine top up.
We arrived at Ham in West London/East Surrey around 1:15pm, into the trailer field to prepare the gigs, they go into the water with the absolute minimum in them to get us through tomorrow. Once the gigs are on the water they are towed overnight to a holding point off Millwall Slip ready for tomorrow. The trailers go in into the field until needed tomorrow evening.

Next stop the campsite, only five of us at the camp site, three camping, two in camper vans, we set up and had a wander before settling down for some snacks and a beer or three.

Tired after this mornings early start and mindful of what’s coming tomorrow it was a couple of coffees and a biscuit before heading off to bed.
