Ben Vane

After a beautiful evening with friends last night, I was up early and off to Ben Vane. A tough little Munro - very steep in part. There was a bit of scrambling which proved too much for Django. Thankfully a kind (and strong) man was able to lift him up and lob him to me. There was very little view from the summit when I got there but I did get a lovely cloud inversion soon after.
The descent was tough on the knees and I was glad to use a pole for once (I normally don't)
A quick swim in Loch Lomond to cool off and I was only a little bit late to my book group meeting. We were discussing The marriage portrait by Maggie O'Farrell - we all agreed that it was good but a bit disappointing.
