One careful lady owner!

Up early today as sones family had to leave for work/ school early. I was going to plant some bulbs in pots for them but it was raining so hope they can do that at the weekend. I visited their local privately owned garden centre and was very impressed…I shall visit again. It also had a nice cafe.

I then visited the NT house Nuffield Place near Henley. This was the home of William Morris.. later Lord Nuffield, who founded the Morris car company. I had a guided your of the house which was very informative . I really did not know much about him and have bought a book about him which I will read. He came from a very humble home and ended up one of the richest men in the U.K. and donated massive amounts to a whole variety of good causes both in the U.K. and around the world. See extras which also show the cover of a Morris motoring magazine he produced which was popular in the 1930’s. It was raining again so I did not go round the gardens there but will in the future.

This is the car he gave his wife for one of her birthdays in 1939 which she then drove for about 20 years. It is actually a Wolesey not a Morris.

My journey home was better than yesterday but it was raining until I got home. This afternoon the sun has come out and it’s a different feeling and warmer. It was only 9C this morning; ai noticed the heating was on in the NT house!

We are soon going out to a nice Nepalese restaurant to have something different, and no cooking!
