A Teapot!

We liked this topiary teapot, sigar bowl and cup spotted on our walk this afternoon.

After yesterday's wet feet, and the further heavy rain overnight, we decided this morning to avoid walking along the very wet Thames Path to Letchlade where the inn for our stop tonight is situated. What's more, the day dawned rainy and cold. So we opted to take a taxi to Letchlade, check into our rooms, and have a round- trip walk from there. Fortunately by afternoon it was dry and sunny so we did an 8-mile walk (mainly along roads) to and from Kelmscott Manor - the country retreat of William Morris of Arts and Crafts Group fame. This was fascinating and definitely worth the effort.

The forecast for tomorrow looks dry and bright but the fields around here are still flooded. So we'll probably do something similar tomorrow: we're booked into an inn at Cricklade for tomorrow night.

Extra: the rather inaccessible outdoor tables in the grounds of yesterday's inn!
