Lord of the..

..Rings, or Isles?..

A beautiful day today, almost reaching 24 deg C.. Harvested some veg and salad samples for the local hotel, and delivered along with some eggs..

Went to the music festival at Elphin for a couple of hours, very entertained by talented local musicians, including the Scourie School kids. Overheard a couple of ladies behind us praising the quality of their fiddle playing, saying it was better than they'd heard from proper musicians. Well done Scourie school..

Heading on to Ullapool for food and shopping, was going to stop at the beach at Ardmair to give Tanni a proper run, there was little parking left, and was crowded, so we drove on a few miles to the lighthouse at Rhue. Far nicer, and spotted these mooring rings set into the rock. Bet they've got a few tales to tell.. Behind are the Summer Isles, and if you look closely, you can see this years Wicker man under construction (you can't, I'm joking!!).

Stopped at the Seaforth in Ullapool for a bite, and noticed a pint of prawn tails for £6.95 on the menu. It would be silly not to wouldn't it...

Then to Tesco's for a bit of shopping. Opened the tailgate to give Tanni some air, and wondered if I could fix her on her lead in the car, and leave the tailgate open. So I'm sat in the back with her trying to sort it out when I heard the locks click. Thought in my efforts, had managed to press the lock button of the key fob. Anyway, couldn't find a way to fix Tan safely, so got up and closed the tailgate. Oops. Keys had fallen out of my pocket, and were in the back of the car with Tanni, and all doors locked. In sweltering heat.

Luckily, the rear windows were open a couple of inches, and with some wood strips, and a nail borrowed from a local resident, I finally managed to hook the keys, and get them out through the rear window.. Relief!!..

Back to the music festival for an hour or so on the way home, and left just as the cloud of midges arrived..
