Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Another lovely, dry, sunny, still day with a wee nip in the air. We all took a walk into town. Most unusual - I haven't walked into town for quite some time! It's about 4,000 steps, so no bother really. Of course, I got the bus back home, while the other two walked.

JR had ordered an item at her new favourite shop, and wanted to pick it up. So when we got down to the Gardens, Archie and I went and sat down at the coffee caravan, while she went to the shop. I had an excellent croissant and a very good flat white, with a little bonus shortbread.

The place was mobbed. There was a very LOUD twangy guitarist, who spotted someone videoing him and walked right up to them, twanging enthusiastically to the camera. The videographer was delighted. The twangy guitarist then lay down, not missing a twang. He was very good. As we walked away, I heard him finishing off, telling the (small) crowd he was from South Korea, and was travelling the world, twanging. Good luck to him.  Then, while I was having my coffee, there was a woman singing opera. But the twanging guitarist's backing music set up was still there, and he was chatting to some fans, so maybe he was going to have another session. There was also a bridal couple (Extra) She must have been a wee bit cold, having lots of photos taken.

JR, walking home, as well as walking to and from the Commonwealth Pool Gym this morning, did almost 18,000 steps!
