... Funday.

After making the decision yesterday to cancel our upcoming vacation in Lake Lure we set about this morning looking for an alternative. Although the decision not to go was sort of made for us by Hurricane Helene!

And found a lovely place that we can stay in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  The vacation won't be for as many days as the Lake Lure vacation would have been but we are still looking forward to getting away.  And we may even work in a visit with my brother whilst we are away.  He lives in North Carolina and we had planned to stop at his house on our way home from Lake Lure ... so that was another disappointment I was feeling in not going to Lake Lure.  He only lives a few hours away from Virginia Beach so I'm hoping we can work out something. 

After making our new vacation plans and having lunch we got out to Housenick Memorial Park for a lovely ... if not cool ... walk.  There were several white-tailed deer enjoying the apples ... until we got too close! Then they all ran away!  Please have a look full screen.

I've added in to Extras a picture of a sweet little Black-capped Chickadee that I had taken before lunch.  I rarely get photos of these cute little birds so I simply had to add this one.
