California Dreamin'

It is not yet a Winter's Day here in the UK - although the last day of September has been wet, dull and windy, if not particularly cold.  The hoverfly found time to sit on a California Poppy to groom its tongue after nibbling the flower's stamens  and eventually I managed to get a shot of the swaying pair of them that was in focus, as the breeze moved them about.

October tomorrow - if we get some nice dry weather it's one of my favourite times of year.  In 2024 nice dry weather is a bit of an ask, but I'm hoping.
