Diary of an Edinburgher

Ladies About Town!

We had planned to meet a pal down in Leith for brunch, but she had to cancel yesterday. JR was then able to re-book into her beloved gym session at Watrender, which she had cancelled .

Christine and Dougal had been ready to look after Archie for the morning, so instead, Archie and I joined them for a walk round the Meadows. A coffee in the new Canopy, which is a fabulous space for students - loads of laptop space, comfy big armchairs and sofas, dog friendly, free wifi, warm and cosy for the winter months (and indeed, our summer months) and NO muzak! NO pastries were taken.

As we wandered along, a young Asian student came rushing up, cooing over the doggies. She has a dog at home and is missing him already. She took photos of our two, Archie posing nicely, Dougal not. I told her about ‘Borrow My Doggy’ - ideal for students missing their dogs, and also good for meeting people. She was delighted with that idea.

JR went to the supermarket and then took Archie out again. She and Hazel were going out on the town again this evening. Yes, another invite, this time, Burberry.

I made an early tea - my usual, quick and easy - salmon, chips (and greens). But this time I did the chips 10 minutes longer, at a lower temperature. Perfect!! Archie came in to the kitchen while I was still beeping on the air fryer! Is he getting used to it?
