Foxhangers (Thursday 3rd October 2024)

This morning I went into Chippenham to get my Covid jab (and a 'flu jab), then onto Trowbridge to see C. and Loki (see 1st Extra). Wanting to make the most of the sunshine I pulled over later at the bottom of the Caen Hill flight and walked west along the towpath as far as Foxhangers Marina.

This swan was near Foxhangers and when I walked back it was at the lock closest to it, mingling with the narrowboats passing through. I'm pleased to say that the boaters took care to see that the swan stayed safe during the manoeuvres, coaxing it away from the lock gates by throwing swan food onto the canal - there have been mishaps in the past.
