a lifetime burning

Holding Granny's Finger

We drove down to Southampton today to see Grandson Ethan and Katie his Mum - we didn't get to see our son James as he is now back at work having used up  his paternity leave.  We were able to do a few useful jobs around the place during our short visit - helping out in the early days was something that our respective parents did for us and we really appreciated it back when James was newborn.

Young Ethan is not quite 4 weeks old yet, but has already changed since I last saw him about 3 weeks ago.  He's definitely slightly bigger and more wriggly :-)  He still has that strong grip reflex of the newborn though.

The journey down and back took us through some quite epic rainstorms and flooding.  Fortunately the car coped very well with it all and so the journey wasn't as stressful as it so easily could have been.
