Last day

Up north. I'm heading home tomorrow morning.

It was a mixed weather day. I stayed in all morning as it was strong winds and rain. When it cleared I walked to the beach where I went the other day. Took some daytime photos. There were lovely shadows of the clouds in the wet sand.

An afternoon of relaxing, then at 10pm I went out to the same beach to see if I could see the aurora. Many others had had the same idea. I don't quite understand how the colours all come out through a phone camera, but mine were certainly much brighter than those I took the other night.

This is St Aidens church. The sea is behind. I took the photo on my way back. You would think I had used a flash. Some people think it is cheating to show these photos, because to the naked eye it is not as bright. But I'm happy to have seen what I think was the northern lights in whatever capacity.

Now a late night followed by an early start.
