Day at a Time

24+ Trolleys

Dodging the showers I took Flora for a walk by the river this afternoon. There I came across a group of volunteers from the Stirling and Falkirk Canoe Club pulling all sorts of rubbish out of the water. I stopped to speak, and to thank them very much.

They were loading a trailer with supermarket trolleys (24 at the last count), bicycles (at least eight that I could see) and assorted other bits of junk metal. Everything was covered in mud and silt and there was a lot of river weed and slime too. What a great job they were doing. It's grotesque that it should be necessary but given that it is these canoeists were doing a valuable service.  They don't even canoe here, they're just public spirited.
