Lazy Day

Catching up on the sleep I lost chasing the aurora two nights ago, I slept long last night.   Today started late and slowly and never really gained much momentum.  A few chores done, Meg walked, overdue hoovering.  After tea Jane and John, who are here for the weekend, popped round for a catch up, a cuppa and cake.  An early night will hopefully set me up for a more productive day tomorrow.

Crocus tournefortii.   Belying it's Mediterranean origins, it's a good garden plant in the UK given a well drained, sunny spot.  I don't really have a favourite crocus, a bit like with children, you love them all but if forced to pick one, I think this would be my favourite.  Perhaps because it was one of the very first unusual ones I acquired, back in 1989 but also it because it has such beautiful flowers.  I think you can probably see what I mean :-)
