Bus Tour - Day 2
Another very successful day, on my epic bus-tour, wherein I am covering the length of Scotland!
All the transport connections have gone really smoothly again, and every bus has been pretty much bang-on time!
Another 3 buses today, with my schedule looking something like this:
- an early breakfast, at my Drummore accommodation
- then caught the StageCoach 407 bus back up to Stranraer
- had time for some coffee&cake, in a different local cafe to yesterday!
- then got the CityLink 923 up to Glasgow
- a bit of lunch at the Buchanan Bus Station
- then the CityLink M10 whisked me up to Inverness in good time
- checked into my accommodation, then went for a wander over the River Ness, and around the town centre
I remain a bit short of 'extras' so here is another collage of today's journey, which shows (top left first):
- a shot of Drummore-harbour (tide out), taken at dawn, just as I left the village
- the Drummore bus-stop, where I caught the 407 up to Stranraer
- a view of one of the Stranraer harbour areas (tide in), and where I picked up the 923
- the famous sculpture, within Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station, where I switched to the M10
- and now up in Inverness; here's a view, looking North, over the ever impressive River Ness
- and also a shot of the 'Inverness Town House' (Town Hall), taken as I had an early evening wander around the centre
Have really enjoyed being driven up to The Highlands - I'm usually 'behind-the-wheel' myself, for most of my Munro-related forays up North; so was nice to sit back, listen to some music, enjoy the views, think a bit, and do nothing much else in particular :-))
Have had fairly decent weather again, throughout the day - looks like it will break a bit tomorrow, but I'm well kitted-out for any eventualities ;-)
Am looking forward to Day 3 !
