A Diwali light
On my trip to Southall yesterday there were lots of things on sale to celebrate Diwali at the end of the month. As my grandchildren are studying Sikhism in school I bought some of these pretty lights for them. They are about 2 inches in diameter so the hand decoration is really skilled as so small. I was astonished at the low price..£4.99 for six. I obviously got a good bargain but it did make me wonder what the people who painted these get paid. They were the same price in all the shops.
After a swim I did some household chores and planted the last of my bulbs in pots.
This afternoon I went to help at the junior school gardening club. I was impressed that the children willingly did weeding of the raised beds and lots of tidying before they planted a couple of daffodil bulbs each. Tidying needed as it’s prospective parents open days this week!
