Robin Hood’s Bay
Another sunny day..we have been so very lucky this week.
We visited Robin Hood’s Bay…a small village built on the side of the cliff near Whitby. There is no known direct link between the village name and the Sherwood Forest legend!! It does seemed to be steeped in smuggling traditions though.
The access road through the village to the shore is very steep and there are dozens of little passages between houses.
This is just one of the quirky buildings..the roof line and shape are amazing.
We spent most of the day there, and my legs are now feeling it…up and down and up and down, then down and up we went, also walked a very small section of the Cleveland Way towards Whitby.
Later we visited Whitby Abbey which looked lovely in the sunshine..I managed to get a photo without too many people in..and no one wearing bright blue, red or orange…see extra today.
