My Son at Pier's Gorge
It was a great day. Got to spend some time with my baby boy, saw a few waterfalls (even got in one), saw a lighthouse, and got in a few strenuous hikes.
On other waterfalling trips, I've seen a lot of waterfalls in Upper Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. But, the 5 we saw today were all new to me, and that was kind of fun.
Jeff likes to get out onto the rocks. A couple of his rock ventures today scared me a little, but he is generally pretty careful.
As for me...balance is a terrible thing to lose. I haven't totally lost it, but it is disappearing fast. I have to make sure of every foot plant, whereas I used to just go, go, go.
I put a few other pictures on my FLICKR PAGE, including one as proof that I actually did get into one of the waterfalls. I thought I would be able to back right up into the "guts" of the falls, but the force of the water wouldn't let me...spewing me out of it's mouth. The water was cold, but not take-your-breath-away cold. More like refreshing.
A little glitch to end our day. The company my son is starting to work for is putting him up in a room. What he didn't know was that he would have a roommate, and that roommate is not me. Since we are in Green Bay, Wisconsin...I just might break into Lambeau Field, the home of the Green Bay Packers...and pitch my sleeping bag on the 50 yard line.
Problems...you handle 'em, and move on.
Will catch up to your photos soon... I hope. One thing, though...the back end of my van doesn't have Wi-Fi.
