PUMPKIN PATCH
Well Storm Ashley hasn't been to Pickering yet. Apparently it is due her during the night and should be clear by the morning - touch wood!!!
I hope none of you are badly affected by the storm and that you all stay safe and dry.
Due to the forecast being bad today we had decided we would stay in the cottage anyway, but I did book for us to go for a local farm cafe for lunch.
It is called Cedarbarn Farm and BOY WAS IT GOOD. Amazing service and food. It's obviously fairly new but we loved how it was beautifully spaced out too, no feeling of being rammed in and not be able to move around. Excellent find. It is on the edge of Pickering - 2 minutes drive from where we are. For non vegetarians HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, although they do have vegetarian options available. It is very popular with the locals so that is always a good sign.
The sun came out whilst we were there so we had a quick wonder round the farm. They are gearing up ready for halloween. This pumpkin patch is work-in-progress and is going to form part of THE PUMPKIN EXPRESS during the school holidays.
The also have a miniature railway, which wasn't running today but it does run with schools are out and weather permitting as it is all outdoors.
I do so hope they get some decent weather over the school holidays because they are obviously making huge efforts to keep everyone entertained and bring in business.
That's all from me for today.
I will try and cach up with you all later, but as I am on holiday and not being too well am just concentrating those things right now.
Do take care and stay safe yourselves.
