Capital adventures

The main event

A slow start this morning with breakfast in the hotel. Then a stroll to Old Spitalfields via the now closed and boarded up #66, the old Crisis HQ. It was wet so being inside was good. Had a good look round the market but didn't buy anything.

Back to the hotel for a breather before setting off along Whitechapel Road. The rain was off and on and my piriformis was v unhappy. Stopped at Currys but there was none to talk to about hangers so onward easy. The next stop was to have a look at Regent's Canal and then a coffee and a pastry in a small coffee shop.

Next was Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park where my 3 x GT grandparents are buried. It rained and unfortunately I hadn't been sent the promised map of where they were buried but I had a good, peaceful walk around.

The last walk, still east was to the Abba Arena, past Bow Church. Sat in Pudding Mill DLR Station till the Arena opened and I got into the Lounge. It was worth the money, good food and unlimited drink, pink prosecco in my case.

The show was amazing though it is odd watching them as they were when they were young. And the light show, wow! And yes we were all up on our feet dancing and singing along to Dancing Queen.

Took ages to get out and I decided not to queue for the DLR but walk down and get the bus back to Whitechapel. Decided I didn't need a curry so a relaxing evening lying in my bed watching TV.

I've walked almost 20k steps, probably near 15 km. Legs are dirling!

There are lots of extras!
