Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In the interest of full disclosure, I created this image using Wonder AI on my phone. I wanted to post something here on Blipfoto this month in acknowledgement of Breast Cancer Awareness and this seemed a good way to do it.
It’s been over 3 years since I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer, in layman’s terms. I was very fortunate that I did not miss my annual screening in 2020 as so many other women did. So when something suspicious showed up on my mammogram in 2021, it had not had a chance to metastasize. I was very lucky. And assuming nothing shows up in the next 2 years, I will be able to officially count myself as a “survivor” in May of 2026. That will definitely be something worth celebrating!
So, ladies, don’t skip annual mammograms. And remind/nag all the women in your life to get “the girls” scanned every year. It could save your/their life.
I will return to my regular programming tomorrow!
