At Claremont NT gardens
This morning I met a friend for a walk at Claremont. They have a Halloween trail for children and this is one of the six stations. They have to use hoops to throw over the pumpkin people. Two large trees have come down ..see extra..
and a big area was cordoned off. I have a photo of our grandchildren between the tree trunks as it was in an area where we often played hide and seek!
We were very pleased that instead of fog it was sunny. I always like to go at this time of year and see the tulip tree ( yellow) on the far side of the lake.
Later I went to help at the primary school Gardening Club. They were planting cress on paper towels! They than harvested the last of the runner beans and tomatoes in the greenhouse. The teacher then got them to sprinkle seeds from the Poppy seedheads around the garden.
Back home I found a parcel with bare root strawberry plants had arrived so I will need to plant them to tomorrow if possible.
Looking forward to a quiet evening.
