Today's the day ...................... to retrace your steps

Time to return home today - but before we set off from the wonderful hotel where we had spent the night, we took a walk further up the glen.  

Way back in the mists of time when Will was an undergraduate geology student, he had spent several weeks in this area of the Trossachs, mapping the rocks as part of his course.  He was granted access by the owner of Inverlochlarig Farm to use the farm tracks to climb up into hills where he was working.  Will was keen to see if it was still a working farm and whether the farmhouse was as he remembered it.

And indeed the farm was still there - but more than that, so was the farmer who had been so helpful to Will all those years ago.  He was in his 90s and the farm was now being managed by his son - but he was still pretty spritely and was obviously very pleased that Will had called in.

It made Will's day too ....................!
