Still Rockin'

Another Early Start ...

... but a lie-in comparatively.

We started the day at 6 am journeying to Jamnik for the pretty little Church of St Primus and St Felician for the sunrise. It was pitch dark when we arrived with just the light of the church in the distance. Gradually as the light sun came up more detail of this a superb location was revealed. My main blip was taken about 15 minutes before dawn and the background is the mountains on the other side of the valley. We made a brief stop in Kropa, which is an iron forging centre and I'm sure it would be interesting to have wander round in a more relaxed manner. Our priority today was getting back to the hotel for breakfast.

Following breakfast and short amount of organisation time, we were on the road again to Lake Bohinj which is the largest lake in Slovenia with lots of leisure activities. There is of course another pretty church but the light was not very good today. The shot I liked from there was of the boathouse with some wonderful trees at the side of the lake.

After a stop to pick up food for lunch at a supermarket we moved on to Mostnica Gorge. Rain was due to come in by 3 pm and we wanted to do what we could before then. The walk along the gorge o back on the other side is about two miles, I think but the paths were quite up and down, rough tracks strewn with roots etc so we knew we'd had a fair walk by the end. The rain did start just before three but it wasn't very heavy until about 4.30 and then it did tip down. Most of us were back to the van by then. It was ver beautiful there but photography was difficult. I'm sure there will be more keepers when I get a chance to go through them with more time but this photo of one of the waterfalls is my favourite from this location.

We've had great evening meals both last night and tonight at different places. Interesting food with lots of game on offer and a mix of Italian and more northern European dishes.

Thank you all very much for the attention to yesterday's photo of the church at Bled. I do appreciate all your hearts, stars and comments but my usual mediocre commenting and thanking is going to be reduced even further as there's little time not taken up with the workshop.
