Old schooldays
Pretty miserable today - light rain a lot of the time. I've spent several hours going through my life story and adding to it. I doubt if it will ever be a best seller, but it might interest some family member down the line!
I've been concentrating largely on my schooldays - primary days this morning and secondary days this afternoon. It's surprising what extra things you remember when you read through the previous memories!
This picture is of my first year class at Thames Valley Grammar School in Twickenham, Form 1B, in 1959. Form teacher Mr Boucher looks as if he's asleep, but the camera seems to have caught him blinking! I'm not saying which one is me though.
I have so much more to do - I must try this winter to do a little every day. I've already written 50,000 words and there's loads more to go! It may seem daft, but I wish my great-grandfather had written his life story. I know so little about him and many more of my forebears.
I had an appointment with the Physio later this afternoon to try to find out what was going on with my foot, but came away with very little that was new. I suppose it's difficult to know exactly what's happening. It must be easy if you walk in with a broken arm and he says 'Your arm's broken'!
Quote of the Day: 'Every day is a school day. I learn something new every day, and I never know what's going to happen next.'' - Michelle Mone.
