A day of travel...
over four summits with some
of that dreaded "white"

~carliewired

We left Moab, Utah after yet another disappointing breakfast without eggs. We backtracked to the 70 heading west through the badlands. One can only imagine pioneer life with this kind of landscape to contend with. I am grateful for good highways and a comfortable vehicle.

We moved into higher elevations with summits over 6, 000 ft. The temperature dropped to zero and the weather turned nasty with some snow in the mix. At some points the visibility was very poor and the highway wet. We passed one unfortunate traveler who was being rescued by emergency crews as his vehicle had slid off.

I made a stop at a rest area just 22 miles short of Cedar City to clean off the front of my car so the sensors would work again.

We happily arrived in Cedar City, Utah about 3 PM. I was much relieved and happily put my feet up.

If the weather improves, we'll have a look at Bryce Canyon tomorrow. If not, we'll find something more suitable to occupy our time indoors.
