Otherworldly
After a lazy beginning to Wednesday and the weather much nicer than forecast, more Steps were gotten in with a yomp back through the salt pans to a little beach on the Ria Formosa lagoon.
With an hour of walking and a cuppa in a posh looking hotel en route, only an hour and a bit was spent reading in the sunshine but it was reasonably relaxing with the occasional boat chugging.past. In the near distance the surf could be heard crashing against the sea facing side of the Ilha de Cabanas sandbank.
I took some photos on the way back of the seaward salt pans reflecting the sky on the water. The ponds further inland are gradually more red and saline.
Back in Tavira tea was had early sat outside, adjacent to the river Gilão and the Roman Bridge that I have yet to get a good snap of in the right light. The staff lent me a fleece blanket as the sun hid behind cloud, things by now getting a bit chilly & I was very grateful for it too!
