Zaragoza
We woke up relieved to see that everything was still standing but it turned out that even though the city centre was relatively unscathed, the south and east of the region had experienced devastating floods! So very sad and I suspect another consequence of climate change.
We were rather concerned about heading up to Zaragoza as travel restrictions were still in place but we calculated that we would be travelling west and north so should be fine. We said our goodbyes to Dan and Sinéad, after resolving problems with keys, and set off with some trepidation. Thankfully it was a smooth journey and no hold ups. We arrived in time for a late lunch and then I explored the sights while Mr P went to a Goya exhibition. We went out for more tapas (this beautiful city has delicious food) and several drinks in the evening. Our last night in Spain. Memorable but for the wrong reasons. We set sail from Bilbao tomorrow evening. I’m hoping for calm seas.
