New garden bed

The before and after shot of one of the new garden beds we built today. Actually I would have needed to go back thru some photos to get the real before shot of this area. The tree that anchors one end of the bed is an oak tree, so it got to stay. There was another tree at the other end of the bed, a Norway maple. It was one of 23 Norway maples that were cut down on this property. There is so much more light available for plants now. I had planned to put some ornamental grasses in the beds too. The customer has several on the property now and some need to be divided, so we decided to wait till spring so we can use pieces of them in the new beds.

A cooler day again, but the temperature is supposed to rise overnight. Tomorrow and Friday the high temperature is supposed to be in the high teens, unlike the single digits we have had so far this week.
