LIFE!!!

I was up early to travel to Gloucester (three trains, all on time), arriving at lunchtime to explore the city. This is one of my favourite things to do, and Gloucester is perfect for someone who likes mediaeval history and cathedrals.

I checked into my hotel and fell asleep for an hour - I hadn’t slept very well as both arms were sore but I feel fine now.

Then it was out to see the cathedral by night. Evening Prayer at 5.30 with the lovely comforting words about keeping us safe from the perils of the night - and then I had booked to have a Tower tour - 250 steps up narrow spiral staircases, to the bells towers and out onto the roof. Brilliant. Plus there was Luke Jerram’s “Mars” exhibit. I shall go back in the morning to see everything by daylight.

Strange walking back with people carrying plastic scythes and covered in fake blood. Perils of the night indeed!
