Beech Avenue Mote Park
This magnificent beech avenue has appeared several times on my journal, winter, spring, summer and autumn. It is always an inspirational sight. If only those people who planted these trees could see them now in all their glory.
The clouds lifted for a while this morning while we walked into town for the simple reason that we wanted a coffee. The plasterer was busy doing his thing so we left him to it.
Spent the afternoon at the allotment getting the beds ready for winter. The No Dig has been a great success, less effort in weeding, better soil structure and some good crops. Good learning points too: need more mulch on potato bed. It was too shallow. And don’t let companion planting out compete your beans!
Nice session playing the guitar and uke together. Three new songs added to our repertoire: Sailing, Yesterday and Have You Ever Seen the Rain.
Booked the ferry crossings Lerwick for next June as I had an email yesterday saying 2025 timetable was now available. I had a quick look last night and was astounded to see only 3 of the cheapest cabins were still available! Fortunately, they were still available this morning.
