Grand Ole Opry
This will be a short journal. We are in the intermission portion of tonight’s show at the Grand Ole Opry. This is our first visit to such a landmark in our country. Next year, they will celebrate 100 years of country music’s best performances. This is their second building. The first Opry venue was at the Ryman Auditorium, also in Nashville. Our performers are The Gatlin Brothers, Trace Adkins, Linda Davis, Jim Lauderdale and Ruby Leigh. We arrived in Nashville with no problems. I won a door prize in the hospitality room - a five-pack of Stella Rosa wines (yum). Hubby had so much fun telling sea stories and catching up with his shipmates. We had a great lunch in the hotel. Hubby finally got his Nashville Hot chicken. We will grab a bite of dinner after the show. We had planned to walk to the show but the rain and forecasted thunderstorm changed our plan. Wishing you clear skies this weekend. “As a country singer, there is only one place you dream of playing in your lifetime, and that is the Grand Ole Opry House.” - Blake Shelton
