In dazzling sun
we visited my favourite
national park here

We didn't set off until noon today. My friend was having stomach complaints this morning, so we waited until it felt safe to be away from
a convenient restroom.

It was already 12 C when we started the 23 mile drive to the gates of Zion National Park. Traffic was light and the weather was spectacular.

We got on a shuttle bus once inside the gates. Due to the high volume of tourists this park sees each year, vehicle traffic is restricted for most of the year. The shuttle buses move people through the sites most efficiently. One can get off and on the bus at designated stops through the valley route. Buses come along frequently, making all hiking trails and photo stops available to all.

My friend and I are beyond hiking anymore. We appreciated the seat on a bus and got our photos as convenient.

We were back at our motel mid afternoon. Plans for an early dinner are in the works.
