Blue jays

I was watching the blue jays get the peanuts this morning. I did my usual Sunday morning housecleaning, watering houseplants and getting invoices ready to send. Went to brunch as usual, and I won the 50/50 draw, the second time in 3 weeks. And I guess some people would say I won the lottery this afternoon.

The first place I looked at, it was nice but there were no trees in the back yard and only one straggly looking pine tree in a neighbor's back yard. I liked the place but it didn't really speak to me.

The second place I looked at is the main floor of a house, not far from where I am living now. The owner lives in the basement suite. So it is not just an impersonal property management company that I will be dealing with, although they are the ones who will have me sign the lease and I will pay the rent to them. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 of them are a nice size. Living room, kitchen, dining area and one bathroom. The laundry area is downstairs, but that will be renovated next year and a new washer and dryer installed. She is currently having a new front step/entry way installed. The living room and the master bedroom are both in the back of the house with lots of windows looking over the back yard. There is a wooded area between where I will be and the back yards of the next street over. There is a large shed on the property, I will share it with the owner, but she does not have much stored there. Most sheds are 8 x 10, this one is 10 x 20.

I wanted to take possession on December 1, but the property manager convinced me to move that date to November 15th. I emailed the owner of this place tonight and gave my notice for Dec 1, and the reason I gave is the violations of the Tenancy Act and By-law 200. If she has a problem with that, then she gets to deal with the tenancy board.

So it is going to be a busy 2 weeks getting everything packed and ready to move, plus moving my garden. The owner said the yard is mine to do what I want. It will likely be between Nov 20 and 25th when I move the furniture over.
