The Top Of The Steps
This is looking towards the steps that lead down to the village. There are 36 steps each 15 cm (approx) high - about 5.4 metres. The steps are in groups (3 of 4 and 2 of 12), with a few metres between each which slope as well!, so I reckon at least 7 or 8 metres descent/climb! Once you reach the bottom of the steps there is still quite a steep road to descend to the village square. Walking up the road and steps certainly gets the heart pumping :-)
You can see the railing on the left and the top of the right hand side one.I just liked the colourful view today. At this point the path has already descended from about head height - the bank on the right is quite steep. So that adds almost another two metres. The railings were useful today as the leaves have made the surface very slippery.
