Today's the day ...................... for a rehearsal

I'm one of the speakers involved in a talk tomorrow evening at NTS Broughton House  in Kirkcudbright.  The talk is entitled 'Stories from the Archives' and it will be given by Madeleine Conn, of the Kirkcudbright Galleries and Stewartry Museum Archives Project - and some of the volunteers, of which I am one.

This afternoon we had a bit of a rehearsal of what we all planned to say.  I'm only speaking for ten minutes - so it's not that long.  I'm going to be describing the research work that I did at the end of last year - on the letters of the Colourist  artist, J D Fergusson (1874-1961) to his friend, the Kirkcudbright Artist and Art Critic, E A Taylor.  It was fascinating stuff - I've put one of them in extras so you can see the sort of letters they were. The above is one of my slides of a self-portrait, painted by Fergusson in 1909.

It all went well today - so hopefully the talk will be entertaining for the audience tomorrow night ....................
