Today's the day

St Lucia

Today's the day ...................... to hoist

Have you ever seen such a monochrome, grey, depressing sort of a sky?  We've had it for days now and there's not a glimmer of any interesting light in which to take pictures.  There's only one solution - hoist up the flag of the Island of St Lucia.

It has cheered us up on many a dark day and made us think of the sunny Caribbean. The cerulean blue of the background epitomises the sky and the sea, specifically the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Seas which encircle the country.  The black and white allude to the harmonious relationship between the black and white races. The yellow symbolises the sunshine, as well as prosperity. The triangles represent the Pitons, twin volcanic cones located in the southwest part of the island which are a national symbol of St Lucia and represent unity.

All in all, it's a brilliant flag to raise the spirits.........................!
