Old College artwork

This striking artwork under the Playfair Stairs in Old College has been waiting for a day like today. A day when I had no blip. I should have stopped on the bridge over the canal this morning to photograph a nicely reflecting canal with boats, but I was already over and away before my head had computed "blip opportunity". No time to reverse my steps.

Onwards and upwards with another busy day. A nice catch up this morning with the other people who suffer the same fate as me, and then an interesting and challenging one to one with a senior staff member. One of our major committees this afternoon and then one of the nice moments of the academic year, the student prize giving. We were all done with handing out the prizes in about 20 minutes, so plenty of time for the reception which the students, family members and supporters, and colleagues seemed to enjoy. Good to have these feel good moments. The artwork under the stairs came up trumps.

Oh god, why did I mention "trumps"?
