Word Has Spread...

.... that my feeders are filled again! 

Yesterday I was psyched as some finches had found the feeders and I was hoping that they would spread the word. Well, it seems they did. The finches were back in full force today, but along with them?  a female cardinal and a blue jay. Not a bad start for only day 2! 

But then..the pièce de résistance. Just as I was coming back into the house after basking in the sun out back, watching for new birds to arrive, I spied a hawk flying high above my neighbour's yard, headed for the huge tree behind our houses where a pair of hawks had hung out last year! And sure enough, that's where it landed! Methinks the hawks are back! Or maybe they have been there all along and now, because the leaves have fallen, they are easier to spot? 

Today felt so much more like an old "normal" day for me...a doctor appointment, a trip to the pharmacy and, at last, a trip to the hair salon! Pretty mundane stuff, but when you have been house/hospital-bound for so long, that normal stuff is pretty exciting...and to top it all off..the hawk is back.

All in all, a great day.
