Mooch
I had had a disturbed night for some reason, taking ages to get to sleep and then waking a couple of times, so was having a bit of a lie in when @annejohngot in touch with the offer of a trolley for V. I quickly got ready and rustled up some scones as a thank you then drove round to collect it. Whilst over in the New Town I decided to walk through the Botanics where they were putting things in place for the annual illuminations which will be switched on later this month. Good views now the trees are mostly bare over to the castle and city skyline, but once again it was dull and grey . I walked down from there to Stockbridge and had a mooch around the charity shops and the market where I bought some Craster smoked haddock for supper one evening. There were some spots of rain but luckily it didn’t develop into anything.
Walked back to the car and drove home for coffee since there had been queues in all the coffee outlets in Stockbridge.
Later I went over to V’s and she was delighted with the trolley and had a little go with it to see how she’d be able to bring things from the kitchen to her chair in the sitting room with only the one crutch. She’d managed to sleep better last night so that was good.
Home and called Mt&H, hearing about how the weans got on on their Scout camp this weekend, where they’d gone to the Lord Mayor’s show yesterday and the remembrance service this morning, carrying flags. They were exhausted and pretty filthy but had had a great time cooking over open fires and no doubt talking through the night to their friends.
Went to see Anora at the cinema…a sort of modern day Pretty Woman with more sex, drugs and Russian mafia! There were some lovely parts in the film, and some good comedy as well as everything else, and I can see how it won the Palme D’Or and is getting so many fabulous reviews…but ended very suddenly and poignantly.
Walked home and didn’t feel hungry enough to have the rest of the lasagne so just had some muesli and a banana as I caught up on the Strictly result then had an early night.
