Monday
We set out on our walk just before dawn, the light peeping through the layers of cloud was like flames on a bonfire.
Dippy was particularly obedient, just once he popped his ear plugs in when the lure of the scent of a fox overpowered my command to stay.
We sat reflecting on the wonders surrounding us when Maisie came crashing down through the undergrowth followed by the nimble Vivienne several minutes later.
Back to base via the woodland trail and a hearty breakfast before heading back out to Barnstaple on foot in glorious sunshine.
Dippy met plenty of new canines and their owners and received a few doggy to treats but was still in calorie deficit for sure. I wonder if anyone local recognises the fishy statue and its location?
A trip to a pet store and a lunch for Dippy was found, I sourced an Earl grey tea from Costa while making interesting conversation with a young couple whose lives made mine seem perfect.
Home via a chip shop where we shared a “small” portion of chips and saved half for later!
Feeling energised again the walk back felt effortless with part of it in company of a lovely elderly couple on their daily three mile walk routine. Had a nice catch up with Charlie and Vivienne in the warm farmhouse kitchen for heading back for another lamb hot pot supper.
More reading and some admin before climbing amongst the duvet zzzzzzz.
